COMMUNITY HERBALISM June 13 - July 25th

 Using Local Plants for Healing

Herbalism is a deep resource for healing. This class covers the basics of community herbalism; participants will gain an understanding of how to use plants for healing, community building, and restoring connections to the living world. Topics include introduction to Western herbal medicine concepts and energetics, materia medica (information about using specific plants), plant identification and wildcrafting, and hands-on medicine making.

Class instructor Holly Poole-Kavana is an herbalist and botanist practicing in DC. Through Little Red Bird Botanicals she offers individual healing work, an herbal CSA, and classes about herbal medicine, foraging, and plant identification. She earned a bachelor's of science in Botany and spent several years studying under experienced herbalists before starting her practice in 2010.
